May I free myself Of searching for happiness outside of myself. Without feeling what I am feeling, Trying to grasp at experiences to fill this lack. Swallowing up what I think will give me nourishment, I only feel hungrier than before. May I just learn to experience myself! May I rest with this experience! May I enjoy these pleasant feelings, Naturally, openly. Without cutting off from painful feelings, Spacious, compassionate. Through Amitabha’s wave of faith, May I cultivate positive states, May I dwell in the four sublime abodes, Understanding this, feeling all of this, Practising this, Realising this, Overcoming selfishness, I experience greater happiness. Seeing that I and mine go together, That free of attachment enjoyment grows, In this very life, Amitabha’s realm of Bliss arises. Accumulating Virtue Amitabha, Sun of my heart, Within your presence, I am content. Free of longing to be elsewhere, I am content....

Padmasambhava – Bone seed, diamond seed

Bone seed, diamond seed   OM   I am the bird on the wing, I weave in mystic flight. On my head antlers appear, I dance in the forests deep. I open my palm and the diamond flashes, I dwell among the stars. I am the swift salmon, Flowing through the waters of life. I am a chant carried by the winds, I speak with the voice of wisdom. I am the song of truth, My words echo in the heart. AH I am the spirit helper, I take you on the vision quest. (damaru) I am the spell maker, I know of all the worlds. (bell and damaru) I sit beneath the tree of life, The centre that is everywhere. (bell) I give myself in sacrifice, I surrender, I die, I die, I die, To live, To live, To live, ( flourish) HUM In the spirit realm, I have been dismembered. In the cremation ground, The fires devoured me. I have been reborn. I have another name. Many forms, Many names. Vulture and serpent taught me. Spirits of the dead taught me. Deep pain and loss taught me. I have spoken to deer and wolf. The birds have filled me with songs The dakini has swallowed me whole! I have passed through her, Tasted the undying bliss of knowledge. I am seer and seen, Completing my purpose, Look now, I return! OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUM I have called you to me. Come now! This is real! This is true! Right now Free of doubts, Free of thoughts, Free of fears The Gurus Wisdom Awareness Dynamically manifests In everything! OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUM The blade is sharp, The moon crescent blade, The butchers blade, The chodpa’s blade, Wisdom’s blade The freeing edge of sacrifice! Blood fills the bowl of bliss, You have taken my blood, Here is my skull, Fill it with nectar. I am burning, A rainbow of light dances within and without, Spinning out to all directions. I am light! I am light! I am light! I change, I am changing, I am change. There is no I. There is no thing. I am laughing, You are laughing, We are laughing, The universe is laughing! HA HA HA HA HRIH Look the guru, Shape shifter, He comes, He is here. Feel him in your beating heart, Feel him in each breath. Closer, closer, closer Inseparable! He rises ecstatic into the sky’s realm. He plunges fearless to the oceans depths. He reaches to the universe’s furthest limits. There are stars and suns In his eyes! See! He has many forms....

Vajrapani Puja: Clearing the Obstacles

Image courtesy of Padmapani.   This puja was compiled and edited by Dharmachari Prakasha at the Guhyaloka Vihara during Spring 1999 for the use of members of the Western Buddhist Order (now the Triratna Buddhist Order.)     A PUJA TO VAJRAPANI: CLEARING THE OBSTACLES   THE INVOCATION TO VAJRAPANI HUM! Burst forth, O Vajrapani, Blazing like the fire at the end of the aeon; Consume the blind darkness of delusion, craving and hatred, And destroy all fear of Yamaraja the king of death. Great hero, recognisable by the tiger-skin you are wearing, Trampling upon the hosts of demons And evil spirits, slayer of foes; Vajrapani, O wrathful one, be seated. You are being summoned here to annihilate the evil spirits; Puja is being performed For the benefit of all sentient beings, Hence you must come. Appearing from the non-duality Of Emptiness and Buddha-nature, You are ever devoted to the welfare of the world, Having manifested yourself with awe-inspiring body; To you, Vajrapani, O greatly wrathful one, I make obeisance. Within, abiding in the peaceful Jnana, Yet in appearance of fearsome foe-devouring aspect, Terribly roaring like a thousand claps of thunder, And by this overcoming evil spirits and demons; To you, Vajrapani, adorned with skulls, I make obeisance. You, whose essence is the highest knowledge, Who, wielding in your hand the powerful vajra, Have rooted out the klesas and deadly poisons; To you, Vajrapani, adorned with snakes, I make obeisance. Encircled by a blazing aura of fire, You stand heroically with your legs flexed wide apart, Angrily glaring with your eyes like the sun and moon; To you, Vajrapani, subduer of spirits, I make obeisance. Greatly fierce, like the fire at the end of the aeon, Splendid white fangs gleaming Like a thousand lightning flashes, You send forth a shout like a thousand thunder claps; To you, Vajrapani, wrathful king, I make obeisance. HUM! Invoking fear through roaring HUM, You overcome all obstacles And destroy all demons without exception. Dharmapala, bestower of all siddhi whatsoever; To you, Vajrapani, foe of the demons, I make obeisance. 1. Going for Refuge Namo Vajrapani! In order to clear the obstacles For the sake of all sentient beings I invoke you, wrathful Vajrapani Embodiment of all the refuges And go for refuge to you. To the Three Jewels: The Buddha, Dharma and the Sangha, I go for refuge. To the Three Roots, The Gurus, Yidams and the Dakinis I go for refuge. To all of you, the ocean of objects of refuge, I go for refuge until the attainment of Enlightenment. 2. Generating the Bodhicitta I will perform this sadhana of Vajrapani To...
